Lake Placid

While its still cold in NYC, but pointlessly so, upstate it is cold, but there are many fun and handy things you can do.

We drove up to Lake Placid on Friday night (arriving at a scary 3.30am!) but as a result had a full weekend in the dreamy Olympic village. Cellphone service was sketchy so I felt blissfully undisturbed.

It was really beautiful and quaint. Almost European, though instead of the Alps, it was the Adirondacks. The drive back down on Sunday was gorgeous too, as we saw the spectacular scenery.
