So. I had my wisdom tooth extraction. I had an IV sedation, and it was pretty strange having it over before it started. The laughing gas was also an interesting trippy experience, and yes, I did get the giggles. It's been a rough week, and I am glad to be fully on the mend now!
Icepacks have been my best friend. I loved to nap with my icepacks. Icepacks, apple sauce and vicodin got me through the first 2 days, sometimes instant mashed potatoes. Always take your vicodin with applesauce! Even in the middle of the night! And also, when you feel like your vicodin is making you too spaced out, switch to ibuprufen, it may make the swelling go down, and help the pain much more.
Post Wisdom Extraction Food ideas are below... Use a small spoon to spoon things into your mouth. You have got to keep the protein levels up for fast recovery, you have to keep it balanced to have all the right vitimins to repair, and you have to keep it MUSHY! or you face the dreaded Dry Socket. No hot hot drinks either. and NO STRAWS!! Do not drink either, just lay off the sauce for a week, your mouth will thank you as it recovers much faster.
